Since the end of the
eighteenth century Trieste was the most important port in
the Mediterranean and the town became a very frequented
international centre.
The Abbazia Hotel, originally
named Bristol Hotel, was built in 1855 and now,
entirely renovated, provides guests with a warm welcome and
competence achieved in its many years of activity. Trieste
now is the seat of important international scientific
institutes, and the Abbazia Hotel staff has been able to
interpret the new requirements of hospitality.
